Platelet-Rich Plasma treatment

Updated: Jul 31, 2022

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is blood plasm that has been enriched with platelets, also know as "liquid gold". It contains growth factors and cytokines that stimulate collagen formation, revascularization and healing of bone and soft tissue, and tissue rejuvenation free of side effects .
▶️PRP is a non surgical procedure that can be used to treat acne scars, surgical scars, hyperpigmentation issues, uneven and dull skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles, alopecia, sports injuries, nail disorders.

▶️Recommended protocol is 3-4 sessions at 4-6 week interval.

▶️ Improvement in skin texture is seen in the first month. Maximum collagen regeneration occurs around 3 months after the initial treatment. Results are typically maintained for 18-24 months.

▶️ With virtually no downtime needed and being a relatively safe technique with very little chance of reaction to the plasma, this procedure is idea for anyone who is worried about injecting foreign substances into their body.

▶️Procedure: blood is drawn from the patient and then centrifuged which separated the high concentration platelets from the rest of blood components; the PRP is extracted and by the use of U225 gun that we use for mesotherapy, reintroduced in the mid layers of the skin .

▶️Benefits and risks: increase tissue regeneration; decrease inflammation; increase collagen; increase angiogenesis (development of new blood cells); stimulate hair follicles;
▶️Risks are similar to mesotherapy- slight redness post procedure that goes away quickly;

▶️Treatment duration: 20-40 minutes depending on the area treated;

▶️Pain level: minimal with the U 225 device and topical numbing cream (most patients tolerate treatment very well without numbing cream);
